Three Different Projects, One City

After three trips to Bismarck, North Dakota in just two weeks, I think it’s safe to say we got to know the city pretty well. From filming attorney introductions to capturing statewide events and celebrating company milestones, each project had its own story and its own flavor.

And yes, every single trip included a stop at Bread Poets. Some things are just non-negotiable.

Here’s a look back at what we were up to.

Trip One: Vogel Law Firm

Our first trip took us to Vogel Law Firm, where we filmed a series of Attorney Bio Videos in their Bismarck office. These videos help potential clients get to know their attorneys on a personal level before ever stepping foot in the office.

It’s one of my favorite types of video production projects because it’s all about connection. We set up interviews, talked about what drives each attorney, and captured those natural moments that make someone feel approachable and trustworthy.

After wrapping up, Zach and I rediscovered an old favorite downtown spot, Bread Poets. Their soups and sandwiches were incredible, and I’m pretty sure it’s the best bakery in North Dakota. That meal alone made the trip worth it.

Trip Two: Greater North Dakota Chamber of Commerce (GNDC)

A few days later, we were back in Bismarck for the Greater North Dakota Chamber of Commerce’s Policy Summit.

The event brought together legislators, business leaders, and professionals from across the state to discuss policy updates and ideas for North Dakota’s future. We filmed member testimonials about why Chamber membership matters, and we also recorded the entire event to produce recap videos and promotional content for future summits.

This shoot was one of those perfect examples of why I love video marketing. It combined storytelling with strategy, giving GNDC content they can use to engage members long after the event ends.

A highlight of the day was seeing Neon Unicorns emcee the event. They brought great energy to the room and kept things moving with humor and personality.

And yes, Zach and I made our second stop at Bread Poets. At this point, we were basically regulars.

Trip Three: ROERS 50th Anniversary

Our third and final trip to Bismarck was one for the books. We were there to film a 50th Anniversary Video for ROERS, celebrating five decades of growth, construction, and community impact.

Since many of their projects are in western North Dakota, we rented out a great filming space and captured interviews with several team members, a client, and even North Dakota Governor Kelly Armstrong. Hearing stories about ROERS’ history and the leadership of Jim Roers and his family was inspiring.

It’s projects like this that remind me why I love being part of video production. It’s not just about creating content, it’s about preserving a legacy.

Before heading back to Fargo, I made a quick stop to visit the team at Epic Built. Their office is awesome, and it was great to catch up. And of course, I couldn’t leave town without grabbing one more round of Bread Poets for the road.

Wrapping It All Up

Three trips. Three clients. One city.

Each project had its own purpose, but what tied them all together were the people we met and the stories we got to tell. From helping Vogel Law Firm connect with clients, to capturing the energy of the GNDC Policy Summit, to celebrating 50 years of success with ROERS, it was a reminder of how much pride and purpose there is across North Dakota.

That’s the part I love most about what we do. Video production isn’t just about setting up cameras or getting the lighting right. It’s about showing who people are, what they care about, and why their work matters. When you spend time with teams like these, you start to see the heart behind every business and every community we film in.

And the best part? You get to travel, share stories, laugh a lot along the way, and in our case, eat a few too many loaves of Bread Poets bread.
